What a difference a day makes. Having recently turned 21, I'd like to comment on how cool it is to be able to order the occasional drink, or at the very least go to a bar or bar/grill place at night just to hang out and grab a snack. It was fun to have a birthday again where something noticably changed other than just a number. Turning 21 is a cool feeling- it just kind of opens options that weren't there before.And it's good that I can feel a difference, since the next (and final?) change I have coming up is being able to drive a rental car. And honestly, not that concerned with that opportunity.

Oh! Other cool news (for me at least)- got a laptop! <lj-cut text="It's so pretty! ">I still have a nice desktop comp that i got 2 years ago, not thinking I'd ever need anything else. But since I'm going abroad this semester I had to get one. That might be new news here, too- that I'm going away. That's what originally pushed me into getting a LJ. But now I'm pretty sure that this is going to stay my online/fandom things journal, and I'll make another one to record stuff so I can keep in touch with friends while I'm gone. I love my RL friends, but they are just not as into (if they're into it at all) some of the same stuff that I really love.

In unremarkable news, I am at work right now, which is where I have been a lot this summer. I've been working way more than usual this sumer to make money for England(where I'm studying abroad).</lj-cut>

In public service news, Cassie Claire just posted Chapter14part2/Chapter15 of Draco Veritas <a href="http://www.schnoogle.com/restrictedsection/fic.php?fic=sch:/authors/cassie/DV15.html" title="DV 15"&nbsp; target="_blank">here</a>.
For those of you who don't know, she is the author of a brilliant trilogy, featuring a Draco who reminds me of Spike. If you are at all a fan of Harry Potter or HP fanfic, this is the story to read (if you haven't read it already, which, if you read HP fanfic at all, is unlikey). You can find all three (Draco Dormiens, Draco Sinister, and Draco Veritas) <a href="http://www.schnoogle.com/authorLinks/Cassandra_Claire/" title="Draco Trilogy"target="_blank">here</a>.

As you know, in the worst move since the Titanic set sail without enough lifeboats, the WB cancelled Angel (though the real stand up chaps at the studio are now whining about it being someone else's fault).&nbsp; Like some crazy TV Nazi, they informed us 'No season 6 for you!'&nbsp;

What's a <strike>rabid fan</strike> girl to do?&nbsp; Immerse in the internet fandom!&nbsp; Hurray!&nbsp;

And one of the cooler things I've found, in regards to the great gaping hole left by NO SEASON 6, is a site called <a href="http://heroes.councilofwatchers.com" title="Heroes"&nbsp; target="_blank">Heroes</a>.&nbsp; <lj-cut text="The site is home to a great concept...">The site is home to a great concept, one I know I've seen a version of in the works here on lj.&nbsp; Basically, its season 6, but it brings together the Scoobies and the surviving ex-employees of Wolfram and Hart.&nbsp; They have weekly 'episodes' that 'air' every Tuesday, written in story form as opposed to script form.&nbsp; They supplement these episodes and add a dimension by also having each character own and post into a livejournal of their own.&nbsp; Basic RPG stuff, but very cool.&nbsp;

This site and its contents are being recommended not only for the cool concept, but because they're doing a great job.&nbsp; Picking up after the NFA cliffhanger and then bringing the Scoobies in isn't the easiest task, as some of you fic writers probably know.&nbsp; The group who is in charge of Heroes is doing a brilliant job with all aspects- characters are in character, good dialogue and situations, and they even manage the difficult (I think) task of having an episodic story arc as well as a gentle progression of events through several episodes.</lj-cut>
<lj-cut text="Bonus feature"><b>Bonus feature</b>- once at the site, click on Fic Archives.&nbsp; The first one listed, 'Lasts More Than One Day,' is an excellent description of how our fave Fang Gang could have made it out of that fight alive.&nbsp; Some great Angel vs. Spike snark, and an impressive array of methods one could use when trying to defeat a demon horde.</lj-cut>
